To do on the Cape

Things to do while in Cape May, NJ

Cape May, NJ! Americas Original Seaside Summer Resort! And with good reason. Jutting out into the Atlantic Ocean 40 miles and forming the mouth of the Delaware Bay, Cape May, NJ, as well as Cape May County, has a very unique climate from the rest of the state. The temps remain consistent with the surrounding water temps. This means its hard to get above the 80's in summer, and rarely remains below the 40s for long in the winter.

In addition to our rare climate, the area, as you will notice, the further down, the Garden State Parkway or Route 9 you get, you will notice the state changes considerably. There are fewer lanes, more trees, more water, more boats, more 4x4 trucks and suvs (unexplainable since there are zero hills and little snow), and in recent history and during summer months, lots of people. But, who can blame them. I for one love it here and can understand the attraction that draws so many from northern New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Its not the trucks, I know. Then what is it?

Perhaps its the slower pace that things happen at the Cape. Even in August, when the heat and number of tourists are at their greatest, life in Cape May, is going at a blistering, 1/10th the speed of big cities. If the Caribbean is on Island Time, Id say we are on Cape Time.

The Charms of Cape May go beyond our own measurement of time. Lets take a look at what the Cape really has to offer.
